The hard drive mounts to the metal hard drive caddy (sold separately), and then slides into the PS4 enclosure connecting to the motherboard. It has been pulled from a working PS4 system so it has the latest system software (at the time of testing) installed on it.

No need for soldering connection cables, or special partitioning or formatting the drive before installing. Simply mount the hard drive into the metal hard drive caddy (sold separately), slide the hard drive into the PS4 enclosure hard drive slot, and fasten into place! The PS4 system will require it to be reformatted, and an offline update performed in order for it to work with the system.
