Our hard drive replacement installs fairly easily. It is an OEM direct replacement pulled from an Xbox ONE S 1681 model so it fits directly into the Xbox ONE S enclosure; is already partitioned and formatted. No need for soldering connection cables, or special partitioning or formatting the drive before installing. Simply mount the hard drive with the hard drive connector (sold separately) in place to the mounting plate (sold separately). Fasten the mounting plate to the hard drive stand (sold separately), plug the hard drive connector cable into the motherboard, and slide the hard drive caddy into place.
**In MOST cases a offline update will be required to get the system running again--depending on what version OS is currently installed.
