Xbox ONE X Optical Disc Drive Installation Notes:

  • Direct replacement.
  • Aligns & mounts into place.
  • PCB Drive Board Swap Required
  • Some soldering required.

Our replacement Optical Disc Drive is fairly easy to install, but does require some minor technical skills. It is an OEM direct replacement for the Xbox ONE X model 1787 so it fits directly into the enclosure. The disc drive PCB (disc drive board) and the motherboard are paired or "married" in ALL Xbox ONE X consoles, so the PCB from the defective drive will need to be swapped over to this replacement drive. Some minor soldering is required to complete installation. After you have installed the PCB into the optical disc drive just slide the anti-vibration sleeve back on, plug the data and power cables in, and align the drive into place. Reassemble your console, and you're all done!
